Un grupo de científicos españoles, que publicaron su trabajo en la revista médica “Medical Humanities”, dicen que esta enfermedad, conocida ahora como la epilepsia del lóbulo temporal, que nunca se diagnosticó en Chopin, podría ser la responsable de las alucinaciones descritas por Chopin en muchos de sus cartas.

En una de ellas, con la fecha de 1848, Chopin dice que veía a criaturas estrañas que surgían de su piano durante una de sus conciertos.

Chopin murió de tuberculosis en Francia, donde pasó la mayor parte de su vida adulta, a los 39 años de edad.
