Después de cuatro días consecutivos, las fuerzas de seguridad en Bahrein utilizaron gases lacrimógenos para dispersar a manifestantes antigubernamentales en la Plaza de las Perlas, ubicada en la capital, Manama.

La oposición señala que al menos dos personas murieron y otras tantas resultaron heridas durante el enfrentamiento.

Un grupo de testigos dijo que el enfrentamiento se produjo cuando los manifestantes se retiraron a dormir en carpas en la zona.

Los manifestantes piden reformas democráticas en el país de mayoría musulmana chiita, que es gobernado por una monarquía sunita.

Enfrentamientos ocurridos a principios de la semana dejaron dos personas muertas y decenas de heridos.

Bahrain: two dead and several wounded on the fourth day of protests

After four consecutive days, Bahrein security forces used tear gas to disperse anti-government protesters in the Pearl Plaza, located in the capital, Manama.

The opposition reports that at least two people were killed and many injured during the clash.

A group of witnesses said the clash occurred when demonstrators retreated to sleep in tents that in the area.

The protesters are calling for democratic reforms in the Shiite Muslim majority country, which is ruled by a Sunni monarchy.

Clashes earlier this week left two people dead and dozens injured.
