El presidente de los Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, pidió al gobierno de Pakistán que investigue la red que mantuvo a Osama bin Laden en el complejo de Abbottabad, donde fue recientemente abatido.

En una entrevista en el programa “Sixty Minutes” de la cadena de televisión CBS, el mandatario dijo que no hay pruebas de que alguien dentro del gobierno apoyara al líder de al-Qaeda, pero añadió que es algo que debe ser indagado.

Desde que un operativo estadounidense dio muerte a bin Laden, muchos políticos en los Estados Unidos han acusado a Pakistán de amparar al líder islamista radical.

El complejo, en el que se cree que estuvo escondido durante los últimos seis años, se encuentra próximo a una academia militar cerca de la capital de Pakistán, Islamabad.

The U.S. president, Barack Obama, asked the government of Pakistan to investigate the network that kept Osama bin Laden in the compound at Abbottabad, where he was was recently killed.

In an interview on the CBS television program “Sixty Minutes,” the president said that there was no evidence that anyone in government supported the leader of al-Qaeda, but he added it is something that should be investigated.

Since the time a U.S. operative killed bin Laden, many politicians in the United States have accused Pakistan of harboring the radical Islamist leader.

The complex, in which he was believed to be hiding for the past six years, is close to a military academy near the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad.
